An 1853 deed indicates that a meetinghouse was located here prior to that time. Horse and carriage sheds were located behind the church. Used as a church into the late 1920s or early 1930s, the deteriorated building was sold in 1942 to Joseph and Lucile Almendinger, who removed what was left of the crumbling steeple, rebuilt the walls and roof, dug a basement and converted it into a comfortable country home.
